Our community connections are important. Donations from people like you help us to continue our community stewardship projects. Community volunteers are boots on the ground at a larger educational event or small safe tailgate cleanup. We developed safety guidelines for small groups like schools, families and pods. Local middle school Capstone students took the guidelines, made recycled cleanup kits and distributed them to volunteers who documented and completed 23 safe cleanups in the winter of 2021.
Donations to the general fund help support many important programs. Here are some examples of how your donations help:
- Event insurance ($1,000) and event supplies.
- Snacks and drinks; giveaway and prizes; trash disposal and transportation; reusable cleanup site supplies; and marine debris art supplies.
- Ocean Environment and Education Aloha signs ($200 each), Recycled Aloha Board educational signs and Aloha Educational Notebooks.
- HI-5 recycling kiosks, signage, stickers, bins for trash ($100); fishing line bin and signs ($100); cigarette litter bin and signs ($50).
